ULAN was created in 1995 as a joint venture of United Way of Southern Nevada and Nevada State AFL-CIO based on a desire to build a better community and to help people in need.

ULAN is funded by grant awards, gifts from foundations, pledges, fundraising events, donations from individuals, trusts and organizations, and payroll giving campaigns.

ULAN is directed by a volunteer Board of Trustees comprised of members of organized labor and the community. The founding executive director along with a dedicated staff, members of AmeriCorps and VISTA, and committed volunteers serve thousands of individuals and families that are seeking a helping hand during a time of hardship.

ULAN is proud to be a partnering agency of United Way of Southern Nevada, MGM MIRAGE Voice Foundation and AmeriCorps. To further enhance collaboration among the service providers in the community, we created Community Services Provider Network (CSPN) because we believe by working together we can improve the quality of life for those in our community.
